Solar can blame half of the new US current added this year, says EIA

New York (Reuters) developers are on the right track this year to add 33 gigawatt solar energy in the USA.

If the plans were realized, large -scale solar energy expansions in the United States would achieve a record high, said the RRP, which based its analysis on a survey among developers. A new battery storage, which stores electricity from solar parks and other energy sources, can also reach an annual record in 2025.

Wind and natural gas power plants made up the rest of the capacity extensions, said the RRP.

Why is it important

Solar energy does not produce global heat emissions. This makes it central to the plans of the US states to decarbonize and at the same time to meet the record-tough electricity needs that arise from Big Tech and other expanding industries.

Many of the financial incentives of the federal government, which are promoting the development of solar energy in recent years, will disappear under the administration of President Donald Trump and increase the future development of technology.

Texas solar outstanding

Texas, which exceeded California as a state with the large -scale solar capacity last year, made up more than a quarter of the solar energy developed so far.

For the rest of the year, the Lone Star State is planning for another 9.7 gigawatts of new solar capacity or almost half of us that are planned for development over the course of the period.

The sunny weather in Texas, the availability of large quantities on land and the rapidly increasing electricity needs have drawn the development of solar energy.
