Five essential things you should know before you increase a carnival cruise ship
After a checkered start more than 50 years ago – his first ship – Mardi Gras met a sandbar outside of Miami on his first cruise – the carnival cruise line is one of the largest cruise lines in the world with a fleet of 29 sheared “American Funsch Eiffen”, some of which are for more than 5,000 passengers.
Five more ships have been ordered over the next eight years, starting with Carnival Festival and Tropicals in 2027 and 2028.
Carnival Cruises corresponds to her party on the call of the High Lake. Ships have a loud, proud and casual atmosphere and swings before they have left the port. In order not to be left out, the waiters often break into spontaneous dance in the main pee room.
It is heavily choreographed, but it enlivens meals. The food is surprisingly good in view of the affordable cruise prices, especially in the specialty restaurants.

Interiors have been weakened over the years (think of colorful Caribbean and not almost bright) while they were built on on board activities. It is the only cruise line with roller coasters and pedal wheels on its ships, along with the omnipresent water sledges, rope courses, children’s clubs and teenage meeting points.
This summer, the line increases the fun of Celebration Key, a private island on the Bahamas with water strokes, which revolve around a 10-story high sand cup, lagoons, kilometers of beach, cabanas and much more.
Where does Carnival sail?
In Carnival, ships of 13 US ports sail into the Caribbean, Hawaii, Alaska, New England, Canada, the Mexican Riviera and Bermuda. It also has four ships in Australia and brings a ship to Great Britain and Europe in summer.

Caribbean cruises explore the eastern or western island groups and visit different St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, Grand Turk, the Dominican Republic and Costa Maya and Cozumel in Mexico. Some go to the southern islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao and mostly belong to one of the private islands of one of the carnival.
The ports of Miami, New York, Port Canaveral (Orlando), Galveston (Texas) and Baltimore have direct flights from Great Britain. Jacksonville, Mobile, New Orleans, Norfolk (Virginia) and Tampa are further options.
Alaska cruises drove off Seattle and San Francisco. For Canada, New England and Bermuda it is New York and Norfolk. Bermuda cruises also leave Baltimore. For the Mexican Riviera – these are Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta – is the starting point Long Beach, California.
Carnival’s cruises range from three to seven or ten nights and include many days at sea. Fourteen-night cruises are so rare that it is a carnival trip and transits through the Panama Canal, which includes trips to Canada and Greenland as well as cruises from Long Beach (California) to Hawaii.
Carnival’s European cruises are eight to 15 nights and usually run by Civitavecchia (Rome) or Dover until October. The latter, ideal for those who do not fly, want to sail through the British Islands and to Iceland, Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
Ships go from Civitavecchia to Greece, Turkey and Italy.
Depending on the season, the company has up to four ships in Australia and offers cruises from two to 14 nights. Ships sail from Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne to the South Pacific and New Zealand. The short cruises are for the party quantity.
Who appeals Carnival?
The fan base of Carnival is largely American and includes all age groups of groups of 20-year-olds and couples in the 30s and forties, who may have been crossed beforehand or not to make repeated passengers at the age of more than 60 years to the same locations and book a new ship as soon as it is sold as soon as it is sold.
Carnival has attached some US celebrities. Celebrity Chef Guy Fieri’s burgers are served on board and you can eat with the former American basketball player – and Carnival’s first CFO (Chief Fun Officer) – Shaquille O’neals Big Chicken Restaurant.

Families are important for the line. Hundreds of thousands of children – everything from small children to teenagers – sail every year with carnival. During the school holidays, passengers will probably belong among hundreds of young people. The terms become quieter, but not child -free.
Everyone is looking for a casual vacation in American style that the bank will not break. Down under are most passengers instead of the Americans Australians. Expect more British on cruises from Dover, but still the majority of the Americans.
Carnival’s fleet
The 29 carnival ships are divided into 10 classes, including a new adventure category for two ships, which have now been renamed Carnival Adventure and Carnival encounter and were transferred by the sister Brand P&O Cruises Australia after it was closed in March 2025.
Excel class
Mardi Gras (5,270 passengers); Carnival celebration (5,362); Carnival anniversary (5,362)
This is not the Mardi Gras, who met a sandbar in 1972, but the first of a ship trio, which was launched at the beginning of the decade and was marked for the 50th anniversary of the company. They are the latest and largest ships in the fleet, and the only ones with “Bolt”, an electro -roller train that dives and climbs around the top of the ship at a speed of up to 40 km / h.

Vista class
Carnival Vista (3,934 passengers); Carnival horizon (3,960 passengers); Carnival Panorama (4,008 passengers)
As soon as the largest ships in the line brought the Vista-Class ships in the form of Skyride on board, which is hung up to date on the top of the ships on the current pedal wheels. The Vista Class also presented Havana Cabana Cabins, which were delivered with access to a private deck and a pool area, and were the first ships on board with a brewery.

Dream class
Carnival Dream (3,646 passengers); Carnival magic (3,690); Carnival Breeze (3,690)
As with all carnival ships, the dream trio of ships is full of places to drink and eat – some, different additional costs. The ships are not identical. Magic and the breeze were the first to balance rope courses in which they balance themselves through vibrating rays and tightropes and a redfrog pub and operate their own red beer in the line.

Venice class
Carnival Venezia (4.090 passengers); Carneval Firenze (4.126)
These ships, which were transferred by the sister brand Costa Cruises (hence c on the funnel) and sailed under an entertaining Italian brand, which was a cheaper (and faster) way for carnival to expand capacity as new ones. Inside, they imitate their namesake locations (Venice and Florence), while the Carnival Favorites Guy’s Burger Joint and Fahrenheit are used to include 555 Steakhouse.

Sunshine class
Carnival Sunshine (3,002 passengers); Carnival Sunrise (2,984); Carnival Radiance (2,984)
This trio was raised as a carnival fate, triumph and victory 20 to 30 years ago and had hundreds of millions of dollars that were spent on them to add as many carnival favorites as it can be pressed on board. The functions vary depending on the ship, but you can expect ropes courses, retreats only for adults and many bars and restaurants.

Hawaii, the Caribbean, Bermuda, Canada and New England
Prlendor Class
Carnival splendor (3,012 passengers)
Originally ordered for the sister brand Costa Cruises, Splendor was switched to carnival during the construction and was the only ship in his class. It is classic carnival with comedy shows, a jazz club, an Aqua Park and a Serenity retreat for adults. A recently renovated renovation raised cabins and added a kebab and satay restaurant called Mad Sizzle and green water radiation, which begins with a drop of 11.3 meters through a trap door.

Ghost class
Carnival spirit (2,124 passengers); Carnival Pride (2,134); Carnival legend (2,134); Carnival Miracle (2.124); Carnival luminosa (2,260)
Spirit class ships are among the little ones in the carnival fleet and have pools with pull-in roofs. This means that they can get into smaller ports and are perfect for the cruise in colder climates such as Alaska and Europe. However, their size has not met the fun. Expect many carnival favorites for eating, drinking and playing.
Sail
Alaska, Asia, Australia, South Pacific, Hawaii, Caribbean, Panama Canal, Mexico, Europe, Greenland and Canada
Fantasy class
Carnival defects (2,190 passengers); Carnival paradise (2,124)
These are the last two survivors of an older class. The oldest ships in the fleet are missing many of the characteristics expected by today, including a good offer on balcony cabins and restaurants. Nevertheless, they have a follower of Kreuzern who like that their ships are more intimate.
