Job Description

  • A Hotel Receptionist is responsible for welcoming guests, handling check-ins and check-outs, managing reservations, and providing excellent customer service to ensure a pleasant guest experience.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and professionally on arrival
  • Create a positive first impression of the hotel
  • Attend to guest inquiries politely
  • Register arriving guests and assign rooms
  • Verify guest details and process payments
  • Handle check-out procedures and issue receipts
  • Receive and process room bookings (walk-in, phone, email, online)
  • Update room availability in the system or register
  • Confirm and modify reservations when necessary
  • Answer phone calls and respond to emails
  • Pass messages to guests and hotel departments
  • Communicate guest requests to housekeeping or maintenance
  • Provide information about hotel services and facilities
  • Give directions and information about nearby places
  • Handle guest complaints calmly and report to management when needed
  • Receive payments (cash, POS, transfer)
  • Balance daily transactions and submit reports
  • Maintain proper billing records
  • Maintain guest records and registration cards
  • Prepare daily arrival and departure lists
  • Keep the front desk area neat and organized.

Technical Skills

  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to use hotel management software (PMS) is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
